I was always in the past able to download mod packs with an internet connection, then at a later time play these saved maps/mods offline. Now recently it seems the curse client wipes the minecraft launcher and requires a download every time I start the games, which means I can't play offline ever.
Offline servers are insecure and can often lead to hacked clients, forced operator (op) permissions, and Minecraft account breaches. CubedHost is not responsible for the repercussions that may result in response to your server being run with Online Mode disabled.
Like I said this seems to be a new problem. Is there something I am missing?
I have searched around for solutions but can't find any. Logically I would think that I could use the curse client to get the mod packs, then find somewhere on my system where it has the launcher. I am hoping this is not an issue with the minecraft launcher itself. But it seems the 'play offline' button is there, but clicking it still prompts a download of the jar file.
EDIT: So the issue seems to be with minecraft launcher itself and NOT the curse client. Thanks for the help everyone, I'll have to do some research on this myself but the recommendations you guys gave were great.
