So I just re downloaded the game because it wouldn't optimize, and then installed two addons because for some reason my addon folder was empty before I re downloaded, and now there isn't an addon button on the character selection screen
I really have no idea why because other people said they have addons
Rakraka,
How did you install the two addons?
A common problem people might have with addons is when they download them, they come in a compressed format. When you extract them, they usually go into a folder with the addon name. Inside that folder then is another folder with the addon name, and that folder contains the actual addon files. If you copy the dual folder structure to your Addons folder, they won't work. The addon folder you move into Addons has to have the addon files, not another addon folder first.

Greetings Warmane community, Arena Season 11 will end on October 07, 2018 at 10:00 server time on all realms. Fight your way and triumph through thousands of opponents and win special prizes which include exclusive rare mounts and dozens of unique game titles for the cream of the crop PvP players. May 05, 2012  Addon Control Pannel - Allows you to manage your addons in game, with an interface which looks similar to the blizzard addon manager. AddonLoader - Is an addon that loads other addons automatically, as and when they are needed, which speeds up the logon process.

So I just re downloaded the game

Did your curse client try and put the addons into the old WoW installed location? Did you delte/uninstall the old one prior to installing your fresh download? If when you uninstalled, and it asked up if you wanted to delete all settings/etc. and you selected no, there may still be some old file structure there that is confusing the Client..
I am having this same issue.
I understand how to install mods and have rechecked my work. I have tried several mods, none are compressed, and they are in the correct folder.
Insomnya,
Can you give me an example of one addon and the folder structure it's in? I need to know the folder path containing the addon files, not the addon folder. Example: C:Program Files (x86)World of WarcraftInterfaceAddonsRecount That folder would then have all of the Recount files, not another folder inside called Recount with the files inside it.
If the game isn't showing the Addons button, it pretty much means there aren't any valid addon folders with valid addon files in the right place.
I am trying a UI reset now.
That is what is being suggested in the other threads I scanned.
Still no button.
I do have the folders organized exactly as you say, Omrakos.
F:World of WarcraftInterfaceaddons!Swatter
Go to C:ProgramDataBattle.netAgent and then open agent.db in Notepad. Where does it say World of Warcraft is installed at? Copy the install_dir line for us.
Agent uses that line to figure out where your game is, then the game in that folder loads addons from that folder. Mine says:
'install_dir' : 'C:/Games/World of Warcraft',
So it'll start World of Warcraft there, then load InterfaceAddons* inside of C:GamesWorld of Warcraft.
You might want to delete the entire Battle.net folder, run the game and let it rebuild all your stuff.
That was the issue.
I had two installs and thought I had full control of which started just by starting my Launcher from the respective folder.
But the Launcher was Launching the other install based on the information in the file C:ProgramDataBattle.netAgent , which I learned by opening agent.db in Notepad and reading the install_dir lines for various Blizzard games.
So once I moved the addons into the install that was being Launched by the Launcher (which was not the one in the folder with the launcher I was clicking, as I noted.)
Thanks Starman!
I have a Mac and I am having the same issue. I unzipped the file and placed it in my applications folder in my wow addons folder and nothing but normally i have to start them with the addon button now i have NO idea what to do!
I need MAC help!
I downloaded NPCscan
Snarduu,

World Of Warcraft Add-ons For Mac

I have installed addons for years, but now, all of the sudden, no addon button. I have uninstalled the entire WOW game, reinstalled... deleted battle.net folder to let it rebuild. the new addons are in the interface/addons folder... but yet no addon button.... I tried running the game to see if they would show up, but they do not.... any ideas??? thanks...
Toohotforu,
Omrakos has already mentioned most of the things to look for in this very old thread. They are still accurate.
Did you check to make sure your addons are directly in the addons folder and not in folders inside that folder?
Did you check to make sure your addons are not zipped up or otherwise in an archive?
Did you check for multiple copies of World of Warcraft installed on your computer?
